Raballder Handball Oslo
Raballder is the common name of all the LGBT sport clubs in Oslo. The name is a word play of ‘rabalder’, which means ‘commotion’ or ‘uproar’, and ‘ball’, suggesting it is a sports club. The handball club was the first one to adapt this name when it was formed in 1995.
Raballder has been on the international LGBT handball stage since the very beginning, and has traveled across the world for international tournaments more or less every year. Sportswise they have been very successful, and ended up top-2 more or less on every opportunity. Until 2012, they organized an annual international handball tournament in Oslo, ‘Raballder Cup’, in late winter / early spring. After this, they organized a beach handball tournament during EuroPride in Oslo in 2014, and are due to organize the LGBT Euro Handball Championship in Oslo 2020.
